Item SOCIO ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTION AND CHALLENGES OF ECOTOURISM IN CASE OF YAYO FOREST BIOSPHERE RESERVE(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2019-06) BURTUKAN GALIThe study emphasizes on the area of the Socio Economic Contribution and Challenges of Ecotourism in Case of Yayo Forest Biosphere Reserve. Tourism comprises the activities of person traveling and staying in place outside their usual environment for not more than one year for business and other purpose. Yayo forest is one of the remaining forests in Ethiopia; it provides many social and economic benefits to the communities. Therefore, make significantsocio economic contribution to the livelihoods of natural people and to country’s economies. This study were conducted to assess the socio economic contribution and challenges of Ecotourism in case of Yayo forest biosphere reserve in Yayo woreda, Illu Abbabora Zone,Oromia regional state. The researcher selected thirty respondents by using purposive sampling method study. The study was intended to use of research design, which means, the qualitative approach were used for interview and document analyzing, and the quantitative approach used for analyzing the data that gathered through a questioner, interview, field observation and group discussion. The study findings indicated that according to the local community perception themajor contribution of ecotourism in Yayo forest was source of income, employment opportunities, enhancing infrastructure development, Increase awareness about environmental conservation, encourage conservation of ecotourism attraction and also there is the major challenges for this study area, were lack of promotion, inadequate infrastructure development for tourist, agricultural expansion, deforestation, lack of educated power by ecotourism, law awareness about ecotourism, over grazing. Those problems should specifically identify and promotional activities and measures should be taken.Item PRACTICES AND CHALLENGES OF ACTIVE LEARNING METHODS IN SOME SELECTED PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF WOLKITE TOWN ADMINISTRATION.(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2022-06) KIBRYISFAW SIBANI, KIBRYISFAWThe main purpose of this research is to assess the practice and challenges of active learning methods in some selected public secondary schools of wolkite town administration. Teachers, principals and students were taken as sample subject of the study. To collect data from the respondent’s instruments were used. They were questionnaires close and open ended and structured interview were administered to analysis the data collected, qualitative and quantitative analyze approach was used. That is data collected through close ended questionnaires were presented by using frequency and percentage, while they response, obtained from the open ended and structured interview were disturbed and discussed in the words. Therefore, analysis, major findings and conclusions were obtained. This were students have (37%) of medium interest of attending learner centered methods of teaching learning process. The availability of instructional methods was affected by the application of learner centered methods etc. And on other hand conclusions were made with school principals, teachers and students administration education office, etc., the school principal by connected with administration education office to fulfill the shortage of texts, class size and other school’s facilities as much as possible.Item ASSESSING THE PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITY IN PRACTICAL SESSION IN CASE OF WOLKITE UNIVERSITY(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2021-01) DEBA GUDETA,; CHALTU BIRASAThe main purpose of this study was to investigate the existing challenges and opportunities of students with physical disabilities in regular practical session in Wolkite University. It is also aimed at suggesting possible recommendations that help to improve the level of involvement of these students in the practical session. Qualitative and quantitative approach of research was used in this study. Data were collected from the subjects through interview guides, focused group discussion guides data’s were organized and analyzed from in-depth interviews, practical field observations were analyzed qualitatively. Results of the study showed that, the exclusion of students with physical disabilities from PE practical classes, support made by students to crate effective inclusive was found very low, low level of awareness of stakeholders like Wolkite University principals, educational officials, ‘normal’ peer groups, parents and others about the participation of the physically disabled students in practical session so that their support and encouragement to the issue raised was found discouraging. Students training, curriculum materials and the required facilities and equipments were also found inadequate. Finally, based on the findings and conclusion of the study, it was recommended that, awareness creation strategy should be designed to the school principals , students, families and other stakeholders so that they could support and encourage inclusiveness in the regular. Curriculum materials for should be improved in order to address the special needs of students with physical disabilities. Students should be provided relevant training and they need to be innovative, flexible, creative, willing and capable of initiating participatory inclusive.
