Item ASSESSMENT OF THE POTENTIALS AND CHALLENGES OF RELIGIOUS TOURISM IN THE CASE OF LIBOKEMKEM WOREDA, SOUTH GONDER ZONE SENIOR RESEARCH PROJECT(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2019-06) YESHALEM ERKIEThe main purpose of the research was to assess religious tourism potential and challenges of Libokemkem Woreda, in south Gondar Zone, Amhara Regional State, Ethiopia. The total of 30respondents found in and adjacent to the attraction were selected purposively for the survey.Data were collected through direct observation, interview and semi structured questioner and by managing secondary data. Categorical, explanatory and descriptive method of qualitative data analysis technique was employed for data interpretation. Three major religious resources were identified as potential attraction for religious tourism development in the study area. Resources such as a history of the cave of Endrias, Tara monastery and Teklehymanot cave were being utilized by and rated as attractive resources by the majority of tourists. Lack of infrastructure, Lack of local communities’ participation in tourism resources management, lack of promotion, Poor Religious festivals management, lack of effective tourism planning and shortage of educated man power were identified as a major challenge for religious tourism development in the study area. Hence, the findings of the study revealed that there is huge potential of tourism resource exhibited in the study area which can be one of the best tourism destinations in Ethiopia. However, now a day, those tourism potential resources are facing aggravating challenges. Therefore, the sector stakeholders should give clear priority for those tourism resources.Item ASSESMENT OF SELF MEDICATION PRACTICE AND ASSOCIATED FACTOR AMONG ADULT HOUSE HOLD MEMBERS OF GUBRE TOWN, GURAGE ZONE, ETHIOPIA, CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY 2022.(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2022-06) SELAM DESTA,; GENET KINFE,; ABDUL HAMID MURAD,BACKGROUND: Self- medication involves the use of medicinal products by the consumer to treat self-recognized disorders or symptoms, or the intermittent or continued use of medication not prescribed by a physician for chronic or recurring diseases or symptom Globally prevalence of self-medication was 27% to 99.4% in different global study. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to assess self- medication practice and associated factor among adult house hold members of Gubre sub-city, Gurage zone, South Ethiopia 2022. METHOD AND MATERIALS: A cross- sectional study was conducted to assess self- medication practice and associated factor among adult house hold member of Gubre sub-city from MAY 2-27, 2022. Systematic Random sampling technique was used to collect the data from 399 selected households by using a pre-tested questioner. The data were entering by using SPSS soft were version 22. The result is presented using tables, graphs, text and diagrams and logistic regression was used to show association. RESULT:Two hundred forty three (61.05%) participants had faced disease in the last two weeks from those one hundred thirteen (46.5%) participants were self-oral medicating with over the study period. Being married (AOR=1.599 1.09-2.621, 95%CI: 1.09-2.621), being literate (AOR=1.672,95%CI: 1.032- 2.01), perceive self-medication as acceptable practice (AOR=1.652 95%CI: 1.32-1.887), peer influence (AOR=1.54 95%CI: 1.304-2.321), desatisfaction by earned money (AOR=1.453 95%CI: 1.321-1.832), and access to medical information (AOR=1.452 95%CI: 1.263-1.570) were significant association with self medication. CONCLUSION: Self-medication is a relatively frequent practice in Gubre sub-city. Previous experience, emergency, minor illness was main factor for self-medication.
