Item AN ASSESSMENT ON THE EFFECT OF POPULATION PRESSURE ON THE AGRICULTURAL LAND USE IN GURAGHE ZONE THE CASE OF EZHA WOREDA, GURAGHE ZONE, CENTRAL ETHIOPIA REGION, ETHIOPIA.(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2024-08) AYCHEWU MARU; BURTUKAN DEJENEThe study has conducted Guraghe zone Ezha woreda. As a whole, because of high population pressure in recent year many highlands have become area of out migration owing to over population and environmental degradation which is caused by influence of man. And in this Kebele occur serious expansion of settlement affect on agricultural land, so we select this study area from among another Kebele of Ezha Woreda. Because of high population growth in a recent year many highlands have become areas of out migration owing to over population and environmental degradation, which has caused by influence of man. The main purpose of the study was to assess the effect of population pressure in study area. And in this Kebele occur serious expansion of settlement effect on agricultural land, so we select this study area from among another Kebele of Ezha Woreda. In this study data was collected thourgh closed and open ended, face to face interview present to the respondents to express their view Both qualitative and quantitative methods of data analysis have employed. Systematic sampling techniques were used on the nature of the study area. The major findings of the study Ezha woreda has affected by different problem. Such as soil erosion, deforestation, overgrazing and bad cultivation is one of dominate problem. Deforestation is more significant problem in the woreda. finally, in light of the analysis made the following conclusion were reached up on there is high population due to farmers lack knowledge about efficient family planning and birth control method in this wereda. Hence, this situation contributed a lot for population pressure on agricultural land use. Rapid population pressure is acting as a negative factor on the environment, leading in some scenarios to distraction of natural level and contributing to such global problem also loss of biodiversity and the possibility of global warming. It is therefore, recommended to advise the farmers of study area practice family planning. They should be train probably to raise their agricultural productivity by adding new technology to their traditional agricultural practices. They should be ignore up and down farming system, woreda agricultural office and development agent have responsibility to develop awareness about impact of agricultural land because, high population pressure has an implication on agricultural land in particularly in the study area.Item THE ASSESSEMENT OF COMMUNITY PARTICPATION IN FLOOD DISASTER MITIGATION:THE CAUSE OF DALE WOREDA, AWADA KEBELE, CENTERAL SIDAMA ZONE, SIDAMA REGION, ETHIOPIA.(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2024-08) ALEMAYEHU ADANA; FENTANESH WASIEThis research was conducted on community participation in flood disaster mitigation in Dale woreda, particularly Awada Kebele. The main objective of this research was to assess community participation in flood disaster mitigation, the current situation and future fates, indicate the cause and consequence of flood disasters, and find a possible solution for those problems. The method of data collection includes both primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected from Dale, particularly Awada Kebele, using interviews and from households using questionnaires and field observation. The secondary data was collected by reviewing available documents such as books, websites, and published materials. Furthermore, the research findings indicate that to mitigate or reduce a factor in the flooding disaster in Dale woreda, especially Awada Kebele,. In addition to that, the researcher was recommended by other researchers to conduct research related to the flooding disaster.Item THE ASSESSMENT OF CONFLICT MANAGEMENT MECHANISM IN OROMIA REGION, WEST GUJI ZONE AT BULE HORA SECONDAR AND PREPARATORY SCHOOL(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) TURE SHIBIRUThe main purpose of the study was to assess conflict management mechanisms in B/H Secondary and Preparatory School in the West Guji zone. A descriptive research method was employed to meet the study‟s objectives. A simple random sampling technique was used to select 12 teachers and 30 students while one school leader was purposively sampled. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and analysis of school policy documents. Interview transcripts were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns (e.g., communication gaps, leadership challenges), while document analysis focused on evaluating institutional conflict resolution protocols.Quantitative data from questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages) According to the data it was found out that poor communication were the most serious challenges of conflict management, and inadequate resources and lack of clarity in the schools. Even though promoting strategies to improve the assessment of conflict management that helps teachers and the school to their best practice, the school leaders were could not play the major role to use different approaches which is appropriate with the school. In the same way changes are impossible under ordinary situation unless school leaders, teachers and students build the right conditions to promote good relationship in the school to play a well role that best advancement of teacher moral in their respective primary schools. Moreover lack of initial commitment to conflict management poor working conditions created demoralizing state of affairs within school staff. Lacks of adequate chance to train the skill of conflict management were barriers that hinder the effective the practice and implementation of conflict management in their respective schools.Item ASSESSMENT PROBLEM OF HUMAN RESOURSE MANAGEMENT PARACTICE IN ABAFRANSON SECONDARY SCHOOL IN CHEHA WOREDA(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) SHAMSHEDIN ABDURAMANThis study investigates the problems of human resource management (HRM) practices at Abafransoa Secondary School in Cheha Woreda, Central Ethiopia Region. The research aims to identify factors affecting effective HRM implementation, assess the socialization and induction processes for newly recruited staff, evaluate staff capacity-building functions, and analyze performance appraisal activities.A descriptive survey method was employed, utilizing questionnaires and interviews with school principals, vice principals, and teachers. A sample of 20 teachers and 2 school leaders was selected through simple random and purposive sampling techniques.Key findings reveal significant challenges, including low commitment from principals, inadequate management qualifications among administrative staff, and insufficient induction practices for new teachers. Additionally, there is a lack of established criteria for performance appraisal and limited discussions on appraisal results between staff and principals. These shortcomings hinder effective HRM and negatively impact both teacher performance and student outcomes.The study concludes with recommendations for enhancing HRM practices, emphasizing the need for improved training, clear performance criteria, and fostering an open dialogue regarding performance evaluations.Item THE ROLE OF PRINCIPALS IN EMPOWERING TEACHERS IN ABAFRANSUA SECONDARY SCHOOL(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) SETEGN ABABUThis study was conducted at Abafransua secondary school the title was the role of principals in empowering teachers. The major objective of the study was to investigate the role that principals to empower their teachers. This study included only data collected from teachers and principals in Secondary Schools by using questionnaires, interview and document analysis. The researcher used both primary and secondary sources to get adequate information. The primary sources of data for this study was collected from respondents such as teachers and principals and secondary data was collected school document .the researchers used to selecting 40 total population and taken 20 samples the respondent both sample random for the teachers and available sampling for the principals. Respondents for the questionnaires were identified from the Abafransua secondary schools. The researcher collected both qualitative and quantitative data from sample respondents. The tools that were distributed to teachers and principal’s members were collected, coded, tallied, analyzed and filled. And researcher analyzed that both school principal were male and then summarized the whole topic and also recommended that school principal should give their teachers responsibility to monitor school progress These findings and recommendations aim to improve the empowerment of teachers at Abafransua Secondary School, ultimately contributing to better educational outcomes.Item ASSESSMENT OF TEACHERS PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL AND ITS ROLE ON ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF STUDENTS IN GASORE PRIMARY SCHOOL(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) SELAM G/MEDHINThis study assesses teacher performance appraisal and its role in the academic achievements of primary school students in Gasore. A descriptive research design was employed, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods. The respondents included one principal (selected through available sampling), one vice principal (purposively sampled), and 27 teachers (selected via simple random sampling). Data collection tools comprised questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The findings reveal significant issues in the teacher performance appraisal scheme, notably that school management primarily uses appraisals for evaluative purposes rather than professional development. Key challenges include a lack of feedback, insufficient resources, and the absence of pre- and post-observation mechanisms. The study concludes that involving teachers in guideline and system development could enhance the appraisal process. Additionally, school management should utilize appraisals to identify weaknesses in teachers' professional competencies and implement formative evaluations to support meaningful improvements. The study recommends that school management provide immediate feedback after appraisals to help teachers address performance gaps. Furthermore, adequate resources should be allocated to support the appraisal system, and authorities should revitalize current practices by integrating constructive, development-focused evaluations into staff development programsItem FACTOR AFFECTING WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN THE CASE OF ABBA FRANSUA PRIMARY SCHOOL IN GUBREASUB-CITY(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) SEKAKANAThis study examined the factors affecting women's participation in educational leadership at Abba Fransua Primary School. A descriptive survey design was used, involving 30 participants: 18 female teachers, 10 male teachers selected through simple random sampling, and 1 school principals selected possessively. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative methods.Based on the results of the basic survey questions, 67% of respondents indicated that household responsibilities are a major barrier preventing women from assuming leadership roles. The findings also revealed that cultural attitudes limiting women's involvement in public affairs remain a significant obstacle. Furthermore, low levels of education and economic difficulties were commonly cited as contributing factors to the under representation of women in leadership positions.The study recommends that the Woreda Education Office focus on building women's capacity through training and promoting them to leadership roles like principals and department heads. It also emphasizes the need for more equitable sharing of household responsibilities to enhance women's leadership opportunities. Collaboration among the education office, gender office school principals, and the community is crucial for increasing women's participation in educational leadershipItem SCHOOL PRINCIPALS’ INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP PRACTICE IN SELECTED PRIMARY SCHOOL OF ADDIS ABABA CITY ADMINSTRATION(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) SABELA GEBREWAHEDThe major objective of this study was to assess principal’s leadership practice and its role on quality of teaching learning process in selected primary schools in Addis Ababa City Administration. The study was delimited to assess the role principal’s instructional leadership practice in 3 primary schools of Addis Ababa City. For these 3 primary schools I used cluster random sampling technique.The study was involved descriptive survey design. Teachers, principals and supervisors in the selected primary schools were the sources ofsurvey. In New LifeSchool, there are 13 teachers, in felege Yordanos School, there are 16 teachers and in Bluebird School, there are 11teachers. Totally 40 teachers will be taken as the sample of the study through comprehensive sampling technique and 3 school principals and 1 supervisor will be included by using Comprehensive sampling technique. To collect valuable data for the study, two different types of data collection instruments were employed- questionnaire and interview. Datawas analyse by using descriptive statistics inform of frequency counts and percentage distribution technique to show the face values of the effects to each element of questions.The finding of the study shows that Primary school teachers of Addis Ababa city Administration perceive their school leaders (principals) plays a great role in the professional skill development teachers.Lack of training on instructional leadership lack of in-service training and teachers’ development program, lack of cooperation and commitment between school leaders and teachers , school leaders and students, school leader and school communities , and lack of recurrent budget support, leaders unwillingness to devote more time for instructional issues , and lack of organizing the school community for leadership work were the major factors that affect the practice of principals’ instructional leadership and their teaching and learning roles as an instructional leader,It is possible to conclude principal’s instructional leadership practice in primary schools of Addis Ababa city Administration is going in good manner despite so many problems.Item SENIOR ESSAYS ON ASSESMENT OF TEACHERS PARTICIPATION IN SCHOOL MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN PRIMARY SCHOOL OF IN GUBRE SUB CITY(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) Mekonnene ErikuThis study was conducted to assess to of teachers participation in school management practices, in some selected primary schools of gubre sub city, Its main objective was to assess the status of teachers participation in school management and to suggest possible solutions, In this study, the researcher prepared open ended and closed questionnaires and interview in order to get available and necessary information for the study ,and used primary and secondary data sources, the researcher selected 2(100%) schools from2(100%)total schools found in gubre sub city, The collected data from the respondents was analyzed quantitatively in tables and qualitatively in statements. The total number of teachers are 135(100%)from those 20(27%) respondents were selected by using simple random stratified sampling techniques 2(100%) principals were included in the study based on purposive sampling techniques major of the respondents are at the age of work force, lastly , the findings, of the problem will drown from the study, in the sequence of basic questions and based on these findings of the problem the conclusion was drawn and the appropriate recommendations forwarded to help improve teachers’ participation in school management activity like, school based supervision planning, decision making performance appraisal, finance and management.Item ASSESSMENT OF THE FACTORS AFFECTING TEACHERS MOTIVATION IN THE DALKOCH PRIMARY SCHOOL IN GAMBELLA REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION(WOLKITE UNIVERSITY, 2025-08) MAYIAN MAKUACH LAMMy study was aimed to assess the factor that affecting the teachers motivation in primary school of Gambella regional administration. The purpose of the study was to examine the teacher motivation role of primary school principals, to identify the major problems operating against the practice of principals. The research design is to describe employ survey approach. The main data source of this study was include principals and teachers of Dalkoch Primary school. The sampling technique of the study is simple random sampling technique for teachers to select our sample population. The questions are carefully constructed in both open and close ended questionnaires. Structure interview is use for the principals. Based on small size of the target speculation appropriate data collection instruments are select .after the data was gather i would using by questionnaire .then i will analyze and integrate data using statistical method such as percentage and tables. At the end of the research i would conclude, about the administration in school, about school salary, effective and ineffective promotion in teaching profession results effective and experienced teachers would like to leave teaching profession. I would give chance about teachers and administrators raised their assumption concerning about teachers farther education, school administrators community and government at large are must be responsible. the has found out factors affecting teacher motivation and the major factors were school facility, low salary of teachers and low society attitude of teaching profession. The possible recommendation were increase teacher salary so as enable them satisfy their basic needs and fulfill teaching materials is importance of teaching profession for the development of a given nation.
