Structural design on g+3 hotel building

Abstract

This project deals about the structural analysis and design of a G+3 building for hotel use considering all the internal and external effects according to ES EN 2015. It has 10 chapters and the contents and the duties accomplished in each chapter are explained below. The first chapter deals about the general introduction of the basic structural components of a building, slab analysis & design approaches, and the main objective of the project including lay out of the report. In the second chapter discuss the Roof analysis and design. The external wind pressure coming from different directions were collected and transferred to frames according to ES EN 2015The third chapter deals about analysis and design of slab on the two method of slab analysis (i.e. coefficient & strip method). The slabs including two-way, one-way and special slabs which are treated as cantilever beam. The depths of all the slabs are made the same for construction simplicity and reinforcement of each is determined using ES EN 2015The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis and design of Stair case, Lateral load analysis in the fifth chapter. This chapter is about the calculation of lateral forces which are earthquakes loads and wind load on walls. The weight of the building was computed by considering all elements from small to large. The center of mass and center of stiffness were computed by assuming preliminary sections The sixth chapter deals on the analysis of the frame of the structure. The building model was analyzed using ETABS V-9.6as space frame taking seven combinations for the existing Lateral and vertical loads.The Seventh chapter deals with beam design for flexure and shear. All the beams of the building are designed for the envelope load combination with maximum negative moment at supports and maximum positive moment along span. The 8th chapter deals with column design. All the columns have been checked whether they sway or non-sway and whether they are slender or short. The chapter deals about analysis and design of foundation. We have calculated the bearing capacity of the soil profile on which our building is going to build. Finally, 10th chapter contains Cost estimation of the building
