Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the status and challenges of entrepreneurs in selected micro and small scale enterprise in case of Wolkite town. The objectives were to identify the challenges entrepreneurs face in selected micro and small scale enterprise of Wolkite town, to examine the effectiveness of micro and small scale entrepreneurs and to identify the possible mechanism to solve the identified problems. The target populations of this study was all entrepreneurs of selected micro and small-scale enterprise of Wolkite town. There was seven entrepreneurial sectors in Wolkite town micro and small-scale enterprise office. In this study the researcher used descriptive research design. For this purpose stratified sampling technique was used. In this study, 86 respondents was used. The data obtained from the close-ended items of the questionnaires analyzed quantitatively by using frequency count and percentage. The data from the open-ended items of the questionnaires, and document analyzed through tabulation and statement form. As the finding of this research shows,in the study area there was financial and much more infrastructural problem like electric power, water supply and road, was the most challenging problem in the town. As the researcher recommended, it’s advisable that all the concerned bodies give attention or consideration and support of the enterprise to solve the challenges related with finance and infrastructure
