Abstract
Introduction:Growthmonitoring(GM)isaprocessofregularweighing(andmeasuringheightinsomecases)andcomparingtheresultswithastandardisusedinnumerouscommunitybasedprogramsettingstoassessthegrowthstatusofchildrenandoftenalsotodeterminewhethertodeliveradditionalinterventions.Objective:theaimofthisstudyistoassessgrowthmonitoringserviceutilizationanditsassociatedfactorsamongmothersofchildrenlessthantwoyearsingubretownin2023Methods:Acommunitybasedcrosssectionalstudywasconductedon352studyparticipantsfrom17mayto20June2023.Thestuyparticipantsinthestudywereselectedusingsimplerandomsamplingtechnique.ThecollecteddatawereenteredintoEpiData3.1andExportedtoSPSSversion25.Bivariateandmultivariablelogisticregressionanalysiswasusedtoidentifyfactorsassociatedwithgrowthmonitoringserviceutilization.Statisticallysignificancewasdeclaredatpvalue<0.05%and95%confidenceinterval.Results:Inthistudy,theoverallgrowthmonitorinservicutilizationwas(42.3%).motherwhoreceivingeducationandcounseling(AOR:2.8,95%CI2.16,4.672),availabletransportservice(AOR,.130,95%CI.028,.596)andxeducationalstatusElementaryandhighschool,weresignificantlyassociatedwithgrowthmonitoringserviceutilization.ConclusionandRecommendation:Growthmonitoringservicesutilizationwas42.3%.MaternalgettingcounselingandeducationregularlyGMserviceutilizationavailabletransportwerethindependentfactorsforGMserviceutilization.
