Abstract
The main purpose of the study was to assess the major challenges and practice of conflict
management in the primary school of administrative of Gubre Sub-city. In order to meet the
objective of the study cross-sectional survey method was employed. Simple random sampling
technique was used to select two primary schools with 30 teachers 50 students and 6 parents.
There are four (4) school leaders were also selected by using purposive sampling techniques.
Data was collected by using questionnaires, interview and relevant documents were analyzed to
support the data statistical tools like frequently and percentage was used to analyze the collected
data. According to the data it was found out that poor communication were the most serious
challenges of conflict management, and in adequate resources and lack of clarity in the schools.
Even though promoting strategies to improve the practice of conflict management that helps
teachers and the school to their best practice, the school leaders were could not play the major
role to use different approaches which is appropriate with the school. In the same way changes
are impossible under ordinary situation unless school leaders, teachers and students build the
right conditions to promote good relationship in the school to play a well role that best
advancement of teacher moral in their respective primary schools. Moreover lack of initial
commitment to conflict management poor working conditions created demoralizing state of
affairs within school staff. Lack of adequate chance to train the skill of conflict management was
barriers that hinder the effective the practice and implementation of conflict management in
their respective schools.
