For this research 84 sample were selected from 3012 women found in Atat general hospital. The
statistical methods that are used in this study were descriptive statistics like frequency table and
inferential statistics like chi-square test and binary logistic regression.
The result of binary logistic regression revealed that malaria status, birth order of newborn, diet
during pregnancy, multiple child status and birth weight of baby statistically significant
predictors of low birth weight. To ensure an improved factor of the services in Atat general
