Abstract
This study aimed at assessment of saving mobilization in bank of Abyssinia at Wolkite branch with the primary objective of assessing the external and internal problem of saving mobilization of bank of Abyssinia at Wolkite branch. From the external problems: existence of competitors, expansion of informal saving and also individual income. And the rest are internal problems; quality of banking service, bank employee’s behavior, as well as interest rate paid on deposits this paper explores the theoretical as well as empirical analysis of those problems having an impact on saving volume in banks and to assesses which one is more challenges of saving mobilization. In this study, we used primary sources of data. Primary sources of data collected by means of opened and close ended questionnaires to collect data from the employees of the organization. And also interview with managers as well as the researchers used qualitative approaches. The researchers used census survey sampling techniques to select all employees from the total target population and the researchers used descriptive methods of data analyzing. And also the research contains data analysis and interpretation by using tabulation and percentage. Finally, the researcher recommended that banks have to do much in branch expansion, to increase the awareness of the society, adjust the rate of interest paid on deposit according to demand of customers and also hire well experienced employees should be done to mobilized more saving in Abyssinia bank.
