PRACTICES AND CHALLENGES OF IMPLEMENTING CLINICAL SUPERVISION IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF DAMOT PULASA WOREDA WOLAITA ZONE SOUTH ETHIOPIA REGIONAL STATE

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to assess the practice of clinical supervision in government primary schools in Damot Pulasa Woreda, Wolaita Zone, South Ethiopia. A descriptive survey design with a mixed-methods approach was used. The study aimed to examine how supervisors implement clinical supervision to improve instructional quality and school performance. A random sample was taken, including 6 supervisors, 7 principals, 7 vice-principals, 28 teachers, 48 department heads, and 6 Woreda education officers — totaling 109 participants (51% of the population). Data collection involved questionnaires for supervisors, principals, and department heads, and interviews (semi-structured and unstructured) for teachers, vice-principals, and Woreda officers.
