Abstract

Background:Poorhygienerelatedmenstrualmanagementpracticesareaveryimportantriskfactorforreproductivetractinfections(RTI),andfemalessufferfrompoormenstrualhygiene,whichrestrictstheirmovemetandselfconfidenceandendsuppoorschoolperformance.Menstrualhygieneandmanagementisanissuethatisinsufficientlyacknowledgedandhasnotreceivedadequateattention.Objective:TheobjectiveofthisstudyistoassessKAPonmenstrualhygieneamongfemalestudentsinGubretown,AbaFransuaGeneralsecondaryandpreparatoryschool,SouthernEthiopiafromJune15toJuly30,2023G.C.Method:Acrosssectionalstudydesignwasusedtoconductstudy.ASimplerandomsamplingtechniquewasusedtoselectthestudyparticipants.DatwascollectedthroughastructuredquestionnaireandthecollecteddataenterintoacomputerusingSPSSforanalysis.Ethicalapprovalwasobtainedfromtherelevantinstitutionalreviewboardbeforethestudybegins.Result:Among248respondent89.1%ofrespondentshavegoodknowledgeonmenstrualhygieneRegardingattitude71.0%respondentshavegoodattitudeonmenstrualhygieneandrespondentshavegoodpractice75.3%onmenstrualhygieneConclusion:Generallytheoverallresultofourstudyshowsthereisgoodamanagementonmenstrualhygiene.
