Abstract

This paper describe to assess impact of rural to urban migration on economic development in case of wolkite town. The study considers about the major factor in contributing to the iniquitous phenomena of urban surplus labor force that continuous serious urban unemployment problem. During the study primary source of data was used. The primary source of data includes questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire prepared to direct the individual migrants.152 migrants were Selected by using simple random sampling techniques to identified rural urban migration, influence of rural urban migration on housing and informal sector and also find the way of reduces rural urban migration.
