Abstract
This research was conducted in gurage zone wolikte town on the topic practiceand challenge
school and community interaction in wolikte primary school. The major objective of this study
was to identify the practice and challengethe school and community to mitigate those problems
by employing descriptive research design. To gather information, the researcher use,
questionnaires and intervies as data gathering instruments.. The method used to analyze and
interpret the data was qualitative for expressions, fg insruments. The respondents participated in
the study were 67 teachers,1617students, 1 principals, 13 committee members and PTAs total
respondents were 33. The method useelings, and attitudes, quantitative for descriptive and the
numerical data was expressed in number and percent. The finding of this research indicates that
24.3% of the respondents have good understanding about the issue of school community
participation. The finding also shows that lack of experience, weakness of the school `to draw
the attention of the community, ability to put much effort for effective feature and efficient
utilization of community resources contributed a lot for the weakness to implement the objective
of school community interaction in this school. On the finding of the research the researcher
suggested and recommended the following points
