Abstract
Entrepreneurship is the symbol of business strength and growth. Entrepreneurs arethefounders of today’s business success. Development is more than ever linkedtoentrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs are characterized by their high need for achievement willingness to assume moderate risks, self-confidence, innovation, total commitment, all roundedness, self determination and desire for independence. This research paperis, hence, aimed at identifying the assessment on attitude of University students towardsstarting their own business. to achieve this objective the researcher distribute94structured questionnaire to sample respondents, and all them were collected backandused for Analyzing. The target populations of the study were 1600 graduatingclassstudents of Wolkite University Students. Based on the finding of the survey, the factor that af ects the attitude of University Students to start their business, are found to be, lackstarting capital, financial risk, lack of business support, entrepreneurs not appreciatedbysociety, fear of market competition and incentives for starting a business as afeasiblealternative for the University Students are the major factors among others. The findingsshow that motivators to starting up a business by the University Students among others are independence, desire to change hobby into business, improving the society’ life, andhelping to create employment, financial freedom, and access to finance for start uparethe main motivating factors. Based on these findings, Promoting entrepreneurshipeducation, providing the necessary credit services, providing business counseling, providing working space, and Of ering practical short term training on entrepreneurshipwith the help of experts and successful entrepreneurs are recommended for concernedbodies to change or improve attitudes of university students towards entrepreneurship
