Causes And Consequences Of Rural Urban Youth Migration: The Case Of Wolkite

Abstract

The study focused on the causes and consequences of the rural urban youth migration in wolkitetown. For this study the researcher employed probability sampling techniques to select the sample respondents, by using systematic random sampling. The main objective of the study wasto examine causes and consequences of rural-urban youth migration in Wolkite town. There searcher also used both qualitative and quantitative approaches. This study also used cross-sectional research design by1considering time and budget constraints. The researcher employed questionnaire, interview, and case study as tools of data collection. The study employed asample survey counting both closed and open ended questions. The researcher also used Primary and secondary source of data in order to support research sources such as questionnaires, interview, case study, and secondary source like different governmental non- governmental organizational research reports, books, journals, article, magazines and other documented sources. The findings shows that rural urban migration have adverse ef ects on rural as well as urban socio-economic conditions, therefore, the government and the responsible bodies should have to focus at reducing the consequence of migration in Wolkite t
