dc.description.abstractTrachoma (in Greek” rough”) is communicable conjunctivitis usually of chronic evolution caused by a microorganism called Chlamydia trachomatis, primarily affecting a superficial epithelial, characterized by the formation of follicles and papillary hyperplasia. This study is aimed to know the prevalence of Trachoma among patients at Attar hospital from 2008-2010 by using medical records of patients as a secondary data. A retrospective study was carry out to assess the prevalence of the infection. Data was analyzed by using scientific calculator and the prevalence of this disease was identified as well as the result of this data was formulated in the form of tables and figures. The result of analyzed data showed that the prevalence of Trachoma was decreased from 2008-2010 might be due to awareness of people, improvement of a personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and public education to further minimize the prevalence of this disease, the concerned body should aware the community again and again about the causes of this disease and in power the society to keep the personal, water, latrine and environmental sanitation. Additional studies concerning this disease should be occurring frequently.en_US
