dc.description.abstractThis paper examines the adoption of E-banking in the banking industry concerning the barriers that can influence firms from taking advantage of the E-banking system. The study was conducted based on the data gathered from bank in the Wolkite city, a state-owned bank (commercial bank of Ethiopia).A quantitative research approach was used to answer the research questions that emerged through reviewing existing literature and the researcher's experiences regarding the E-banking system in a Wolkite city. The study statistically analyzes data obtained from the survey questionnaire. A research framework was developed based on the technology-organization environment framework and the Technology acceptance model to guide the study.The study's result indicated that the Ethiopian banking industry faces major barriers to adopting Electronic banking, including technological factors, security risks, and lack of trust. The study also identified perceived ease of use and usefulness as drivers of adopting an E-banking system.The study suggests a series of measures that could be taken by the banking industry en_US
