Abstract
The main objective of the study is to investigate the major factors that affect the motivation of
students in gymnastic in practical class in Emdbir primary school. the study used descriptive
survey design. From the perspective of the number of contacts from the study population it will
be cross-sectional /survey/ study. To achieve the objectives of the study and to get adequate data
from the participants this Study used both primary and secondary sources of data. The total
population of this study was 696; among these 87 samples were selected through stratified
random /proportional/ and judgmental sampling techniques. To collect adequate data
questionnaire, interview and field observation were used. The collected data were analyzed both
qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study show that there are a number of factors
that affect the student’s motivation towards gymnastic practical class. The main factors that
affect the students motivation in gymnastics practical classes are; the students exercise
background, their motivation level , their physical fitness level, and lack of practice behind
normal programs..By the collaborative efforts of the student and the teachers these factors can
be minimized and the school should be under great preparation to fulfill the facilities and
equipment of gymnastic. These can bring physical and psychological adaptation towards
gymnastic practical sessions in Emdbire primary school.
