| dc.description.abstract | The poor environmental protection is one of the major problems of Ethiopia. However, the researches on the gender dimensions of the problems is limited, this study attempts to investigate the role of womens’ for environmental protections in Shino Funamura Kebele. There were 70 respondents selected by random sampling methods. The data were collected through questionnaires, interview and observations and the information collected was analysed by quantitative,qualtative and mixed approaches like percentage and frequencey. The findings of the study indicated that womens’ in the study areas are playing important role for environmental protections. Through plantings tree, cleaning and preparing waste storage places. Based on the study findings, increased protections of women at grass root levels to clean their environment encourages the participation of womens’ ,awareness creations giving effective training for womens’ on environments issues are recommended to further strengthen the role of women for environmental protections in the future .The interview also Explain “some people in the community's insulate the womens’ reject and unwillingness for participation of environmental protections” and the major challenges that the womens’ in Shino Funamura kebele faced were the followings: - Lack of awareness, less motivations on for all women, Lack of organizations and government involvements. As it is shown in table the highest challenges that women in Shino Funamura faced is environmental problems that caused by human activities and the smallest challenge that they faced is inadequate community participation. Therefore, this implies that the major challenges that respondents are facings in environmental challenges that are cause human activities. Womens’ education and access to educations for girls should be seen as policies priority. | |
