THE MAJOR CAUSES OF STUDENTS DROPOUT IN GASORE PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF WOLKITE TOWN

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to the assessed the magnitude of students` dropout, to identify major causes of the dropout, and to identify measures taken to retain students` dropout. In this study descriptive survey method was be employed. Data was collect from 8 teachers and 40 Students through questionnaires. Simple random sampling techniques was be employed to select teachers and students’ respondents from both groups (male and female) and available sampling was be applied to select the principals. Interviews was carry out with 2 principals and 4 parents. The data obtained from the questionnaires was be analyzed using qualitative and quantitative methods
