Abstract

This study investigates ROLE OF LEADERSHIP ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN PUBLIC ORGANIZATION (WOLKITE TOWN ADMINISTRATION.) Recognizing the critical role of effective leadership in enhancing organizational performance, this research aims to explore various leadership styles and their impact on employee motivation, job satisfaction, and overall productivity. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data The findings reveal a significant correlation between transformational leadership styles and improved employee performance metrics, highlighting the importance of leaders who inspire, motivate, and engage their teams. Conversely, autocratic leadership styles were associated with lower levels of employee satisfaction and performance. Qualitative insights further emphasize the necessity of effective communication, recognition, and support from leaders as key factors influencing employee engagement and productivity. This research contributes to the existing literature on leadership in public service contexts and provides practical recommendations for enhancing leadership practices within Wolkite Town Administration. By fostering a culture of supportive and transformational leadership, public service organizations can improve employee performance and, ultimately, the quality of service delivery to the community. The study underscores the need for ongoing leadership development programs tailored to the unique challenges faced in public service environments.
