dc.description.abstractThis research attempts to explore and analyze the challenges to local governance taking the case of woliso town 01 kebele.in conducting this researcher used both probability and non-probability sampling techniques.in this sampling techniques researcher took ninety-eight (98) respondents. Additionally, the researcher used primary and secondary data in conducting this research paper. Through both sources’ researcher find low community participation and also low women empowerment in woliso town. It attempts to investigate and asses the economic challenges to local governance that include related factors lack of infrastructure facilities, inadequate resources and in adequate service delivery, political related factors, i.e. unaccountable officials, weak administration system, corruption and lack of good governance, unnecessary interference of central government in the issue of grace root units. Also, the social related factors such as low attitude of community, lack of participation and lack of community awareness. Therefore, as the importance of the local governance for the socio- economic and political development of communities, this paper analysis and identified from the case to the challenges and finally forward possible solution that based on the interpretation of data collected from the respondents.en_US
