Abstract

In the area of globalization, the role of human resource in organization is crucial so that managers become aware that human resource management is function and area that plays a vital role in success of the organization. The general objective of the study assessed the causes and consequences of employees’ absenteeism and to come up with possible recommendations in Ethiopian Electric Power Utility, Wolkite district. To achieve its objectives both primary and secondary data will be obtained and used from management bodies and non-management employees of Ethiopian Electric Power Utility. The study employed simple random sampling technique to select sample respondents from the target population. Questionnaires distributed to the sample respondent so as to gather the required and relevant data for the study. Moreover, the secondary data was collected from reference books and published materials of Ethiopian Electric Power Utility. On this study both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods was used.
