Abstract
Every task has its own objective. So, the main objective of this study is to assess the existing effect of Performance Management system on Employee Motivation in Wolkite University. The study used descriptive and explanatory research design; the result showing cause and effects Performance Management (independent Variable) on the Employee Motivation (dependent Variable) in Wolkite University. The study utilized systematic sampling method for academic and administrative workers. The population of the study consisted of 1,918 employees of Wolkite University. The sample size was 330 employees which included 170 academic staffs and 160 administrative staffs. The data was collected from two sources; Primary data gathered through a questionnaire, interview Teachers and administrative staff. Secondary data was collected through written documents from HRD. Data was analyzed using statistical package for social sciences. The research’s analysis revealed that performance planning, feedback performance, and performance evaluation all have a positive and significant effect on employee motivation, but the rewarding systems did not have a significant impact on employee motivation. The study recommends that the organization should adopt more scientific or similar evaluation methods to assess employee motivation and performance effectively. Additionally, managers could benefit from training programs aimed at improving their performance management skills to further enhance employee motivation.
