dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to assess the challenges of domestic water supply in Mersa town in the case of 02 Kebele. Therefore, 50 sample respondents were selected from the target population of 2495 house hold in the study area, through Simple random methods. The data were obtained through interview, questioners and field observation. Data was analyzed by qualitative and quantitative method. The result of the study depicts that major challenges were identified such as lack of water source, high population growth, shortage of finance, management problem and lack of skilled man power. Based on the findings, the researchers were forwarded government should construct other alternative source of water. The society must organize and make cooperation with the government to find solution of the problem. Finally, the researchers were recommended the concerned body/responsible authorities to ensure sustainable water supply in providing.
