Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the Practice and Challenges of Instructional Leadership in Aba Fransua Primary School of Gubrye sub city to examine the challenges encountered during instructional leadership practice. The study employed a descriptive survey design. Data was gathered from a total of 42 participants/ population. From the total population of 76 in the schools. From which teachers are 65 department heads are 7, cluster supervisor are 1, vice principals are 2, and 1 school principals were involved in the study. However,15 males 20 females total totally 35 teachers and 2 males 1 females totally 3 department heads, 1 male supervisor, 1 males 1 females totally 2 vice principals, and 1 male school principals were selected by using simple random sampling (lottery system). The data gathering instruments were observation checklist, and questionnaires are prepared in different items for teachers, principal, department heads, vice principal, and supervisor. As in the instructional leadership stakeholders of the study based on the data presentation, and interpretation the research has used findings as in the instructional leadership practice which is 28 (66.66%) of the respondents indicated the school leaders were not facilitating opportunities for teacher’ s professional development, and in addition 14(33.33%)the instructional leadership challenges were negligence of principals in the school leadership practices
