Abstract
Electronic banking is recent technologies in banking industry. The technologies give significant
importance. it is easy, convenient, cost saving and readily available banking, most banks are
now focusing on e banking instead of opening more branches at different geographical locations.
In spite of the introduction of e-banking, most customers still concentrated in bank halls to
transact business. The main objective of the research is to assess the challenge that influencing
customer to use e-banking in case of commercial bank of Ethiopia Gubireye branch. And in
order to give recommendation on effective management of the e-bank technologies. Thus, this
study focused on networking problem, perceived risk, perceived usefulness and customer
awareness about technologies as a major factor and identify which factors have more influence
and how the bank manage this factor. The study is descriptive and used primary data collected
through a self-administered questionnaire with closed and open-ended structured questions.
Student researchers would have taken a sample of 2016 from a total population of 10652 e-bank
users by using convenience sampling. The data was analyzed using SPSS and the outcome was
presented using percentage, frequency and mean. The finding of the study shows that networking
problem is the major challenge for customer to use e-banking. Moreover, users have low
perceived risk, higher perceived usefulness and knowledge about the technology’s usage. The
researchers recommended that the bank should work on networking infrastructures development
for better improvement of networking system
