    A RESEARCH PAPER ON: DETERMINANTS OF FAMILY PLANNING PRACTICE IN WOLKITE TOWN

    In Ethiopia the problem of population growth and productive health challenges include high maternal mortality; high population growth rate and total fertility rate are most problems in Ethiopian family planning. The aim of the study was to identify the variables that mainly determine family planning practice and to describe the impacts of the: Age of respondents, Women’s education level, Number of children, Religion of respondents, Source of information about a FP method, Type of contraceptive method used for FP method, Knowledge of couples on a FP methods, Economic status of household, Residence of respondents, Husband approves FP (HusApprov), Occupation of a woman and Occupation of a man (husband). The data collection method used to collect data was primary data collection method. And the two methods of analyzing data; descriptive and inferences about data were comprised in this study. Some tests inference were made to determined whether the independent variable have relation or not. Furthermore the chi-square tests were important to test the association of those variables. Finding of this study have shown that, age grouped (15-19), couples who get information from family guidance, type of contraceptive (condom), Husbands who approve on Fp method, couples who has knowledge about FP and type of contraceptive in the binary logistic regression significantly affect the family planning practice. The analysis showed that there is a difference in the status of couples on FP practice that depend on place of residence that who live in the urban and rural parts of the town.
