    THE ROLE OF WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION IN PROMOTING GENDER EQUALITY IN THE CASE OF WOLKITE TOWN

    The main aim of this study was the role of women's association in promoting gender equality in wolkite town. The general objective of the study is to assess the role of women's association in promoting gender equality: in order to achieve the objective of this research and adequately answer the research question, both primary and secondary data sources were used. In gathering data questionnaire and interview were used of data gathering. In addition simple random sampling technique was employed a populations were selected from the total population by random sampling techniques. Among those 40 respondents to informants based on the finding the researcher conclude that the basic cause for the role of women’s association to promoting gender equal were good status of women, to reduce less attitude of society towards women the existence of harmful traditional practice and lack of practical actively to promote gender equality. In order to solve this problem the researcher recommended that the society and the governments should promoted women to learn and participate in every aspects of action.
