Virtual Class Room and Chatting System for Wolkite University Butajira Campus a web based application which aimed to change the manual system of the learning and teaching process to automated system. It is one of the major learning methods in the era of information that allows students and lecturers to go online and continue their normal school activities. The traditional method of teaching and learning has some shortfalls. The proposed system is equipped with features that minimizes problems in traditional learning method. The virtual classroom is more conducive and the students can readily get their study materials easily. There is a module where the system administrator can create other lecturers that will use the system. There is a module where students can login to read announcements, there is assessment module where lecturers may post and students can view. This system will encourage learning of the individual topic contained therein and enhance the student’s practical knowledge and broaden their theoretical knowledge while creating a more interacting learning process. The system is implemented using PHP for the front end and MySQL for the database
