    AN ASSESSMENT OF THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION OF ELDERLY PEOPLE: THE CASE WOLISO TOWN AYETU (01) KABELE

    The study was conducted on economic situation of elderly people the case of Woliso town Ayetu(01) kebele. The aim of this study is to assess the socio-economic situation of elderly people Woliso town (Ayetu 01) kebele as case study. The socio economic situation of elderly people in in Africa is the deteriorating process of modernization like individualism, urbanization, and parallel process of HIV/AIDS. It was conducted in Woliso town. Both primary and secondary data were collected qualitatively and quantitatively. The sample selected by both probability and non-probability sampling. Data was collected from selected simple random from probability sampling and purposive sampling from non-probability techniques by using both qualitativeive and quantitative method. Data were analyzed use qualitatively by observation, key informants, case-study and quantitative methods such as percentage, table and using statement. The finding this study shows that there were various socio-economic problems that elder people in the study area have been faced like isolation lack of shelter lack basic need and there is no any government and non-government institution take some action on those problems. As a result the researchers used conclusion and recommendation of the further study and the government taking action to solve the problem of elders in their life situation like garneting house, making awareness to the community
