    FACTORS AFFECTING TEACHERS MOTIVATION IN BONOSHAPRIMARYSCHOOL

    Teachers’ motivation is very much essential for quality of education. Therefore this study was designedto examine factors affecting motivational level of primary school teachers in Bonosha. The objective softhe study were to identify the factors that affect teachers ’ motivation, investigate factors that havemoreeffect on teachers ’ motivation and to determine school principals ’ effort to maximizeteachers’motivation. To conduct this study descriptive survey method was employed on 6schools foundinfoursub town of Bonosha. Sources of the data were primary and secondary data. The primarysourcesofdatawere teachers, principals and supervisors. The secondary data were documents foundinthesampleschools. Samples of the study were selected using different sampling techniques. Teachers wereselectedusing simple random sampling techniques whereas principals and supervisors were takenfor thestudyusing purposive sampling and availability sampling respectively. In order to collect data closedandopenended questionnaires were designed for teachers and supervisors while interviewquestionsweredesigned for principals. Closed ended questions were analyzed by means of SPSS. The openendedandinterview questions were analyzed qualitatively. The analyzed data was presented using tablesandpercentages. The study has found out factors affecting teacher motivation and the major factorswereremuneration, accommodation, school facility and low community respect in additionthestudyalsofound out principals’ effort to maximize teachers’ motivation was low. The possible recommendationswere increase teachers’ salary so as to enable them satisfy their basic needs ,build houses for teachersfull fill teaching material and work on medias to show the importance of teaching professionforthedevelopment of a given nation
